Kelvingrove, New Century Project, Glasgow   Event’s imaginative and pragmatic solutions to the challenges of displaying Kelvingrove's encyclopedic collections in its historic spaces is key to what is being described as "the future of museums". Working alongside Glasgow Museums Project Team Event engaged with the complexities and challenges of the Kelvingrove New Century project, determined to deliver a solution that maintains and builds a much-loved icon of Glasgow life and is responsive to the lives and expectations of its 21st century visitors. Innovative on many levels, this museum is designed to set up a dialogue with its audiences. Its story-based approach breaks with traditional museum practice, the Flexible Display System has the capacity to reconfigure and change: it willingly addresses sensitive issues; the picture hang is appealingly unconventional and the result is a contemporary re-working of a grand Victorian vision.       More >>>
