European Museum of the Year Award (EMYA) 2016 Travel Grants
Event is pleased to be once again supporting a programme of travel grants to attend the European Museum of the Year Award (EMYA) Ceremony, which takes place in Tolosa and San Sebastian in April 2016.
The call for applications for the travel grants has recently been published on the website of the European Museum Forum here. Event initiated the grant programme in 2014 as a way of supporting the wider European museum community and the EMYA initiative. We have been delighted by its success and, in particular, the fact that the grants have facilitated the participation of staff from nominated museums who might otherwise not be able to attend the EMYA ceremony.
Founded in 1977, the European Museum of the Year Award recognises excellence in the European museum sector and encourages innovative processes in the museum world. Attendance at the Award is an invaluable opportunity for professionals from museums of different sizes to gather, share and learn from one another.
This year’s EMYA ceremony will be held in Tolosa and San Sebastian, from 6 to 9 April 2016.
Six travel grants of €500 each will be awarded to individuals for travel to Spain. Applications are invited from representatives of museums nominated for EMYA 2016 and from EMF National Correspondents.
Event is proud that this year’s nominated museums includes Polin - the Museum of the History of Polish Jews in Warsaw. Event was privileged to have been involved in creation of the permanent exhibitions at the museum, which opened in October 2014.
