The Dynamic Role of Oil in Kuwait

Ahmad Al-Jaber Oil & Gas Exhibition, Kuwait Oil Company

This project is named for the visionary leader of Kuwait, the late Sheikh Ahkmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and housed in a landmark building in Al Ahmadi Garden City. It reflects the status of the Kuwait Oil Company, responsible for the production, refining, marketing and distribution of a significant proportion of world oil reserves.

The exhibition looks at the early history of oil exploration in Kuwait, the rise of the KOC, and the heroism of Kuwaiti and international firefighters after the Iraqi withdrawal. Presentations open with the image of a drop of oil and close with an installation celebrating the huge volume of oil that Kuwait produces every second.

There is a Kuwaiti focus throughout, with the building offering views of oil fields, pumping stations, tank farms and a pipe line that runs down to the sea. Visitors gain insights into the resources that power our lives – beginning deep in rock and finally being shipped all over the world.
