Introducing a Landmark

The View From the Shard

The Shard is Western Europe’s tallest building. With a platform almost twice the height of any other, and spectacular 40 mile 360 degree views, The View from the Shard is the only place to see the whole of London.

Visitors are welcomed with displays featuring the inspiration behind the Shard. They are entertained by famous Londoners, past and present, and informed about the historic context of the city’s oldest Thames crossing point, London Bridge. Film presentations offer glimpses of London’s diverse communities and the streets and buildings which can be seen from platforms 200 metres above them. An orchestral and choral piece composed by David Mitchum compliments the experience.

The lifts take 60 seconds, during which visitors soar through some of London’s iconic ceilings – the Dome of St Paul’s, Ruben’s ceiling at the Banqueting House, the Great Court at the British Museum…

A graffiti word map at level 33 paves the way to The Cloudscape, a triple height, light filled platform on level 69 which reveals breath-taking views.

Hardy and daring visitors ascend to the open-air experience on level 72.
